see I had been in a very emotionally abusive realtionship .. and i want out its been 15 yrs, I don't have many friends and I need to get rid of yet another loser

well for the person who said I would have left already if I had been strong enough I never wanted to put on here that I had broken bones .. many actually. And he would post bail get out and beat me again .. but to all the others who showed much compassion .. thank -you so much and that information was great its what i needed I got my answer .. thanks again

p.s. to flagger .. I realise you do not know any better but "my attiude " is docile to this man .. I am afraid .. but If I wanted to continue being a victim I would not have asked the question. there are circumstances you would have no idea about , andI would NOT want on here. but I understand its your opinion and you havea right to it I asked .

Sorry about your situation, its brave of you to make that decision because many women continue to stay in such situations and don't have the strength to go. I was in same situation but I left 5 months after the marriage. I live in London but am sure you might get a place where you are. If its very bad you could start by calling the police who may have contacts and they may also help you get a refuge place close to you. Emotional abuse is not acceptable and no human should ever go through that. Good Luck..

Emotional abuse only happens with your permission so its not really abuse. If you had the strength to leave on your own you probably would not have been affected by language. I am sure there are women's shelters in New Jersey. I am also sure the have their hands full with significant abuse, broken bones, bruises and black eyes. Real Abuse.
Perhap your attitude toward him might be a contributing factor to his.
