Import/open your WAV file, then go to File - Export as MP3.
But you will lose sound quality compared to a WAV because MP3 is a compression format, like Jpeg.

Yes, as others have said, there are many free programs on the web - search for Audio Convertors.
Be aware that converting from .wav to .mp3 will reduce the sound quality - if you want it just for general listening, then it's not too much of an issue, however if you want to use the file for performance purposes, .wav may be better in terms of quality of sound.

YES, lotsa programs can do it try filehippo and look for 1.
i bought (doh) Musicmatch and it does it automatcally if i specify it
