I've been getting some wicked headaches and the doctors can't seem to figure out why I get them and why I can't get rid of them. Does anyone have some/or know of some natural remedies or what not that might work?

eat about 10 dark Bing cherries... there's a compound in them that's a natural pain killer... but the best thing to do is to pay a professional massage therapist to give you at least a 30 minute upper body massage (make sure to tell them that you have a headache and you want them to focus on your upper back, head, neck and shoulders).. most headaches are caused by unconsciously tensing your muscles in these areas (yes you have plenty of muscles on your head)... when these areas are released (a professional Licensed Massage Therapist knows all of the trigger points and muscles that need to be released so just having a friend give you a massage probably won't do the job) your headache disappears... this is better than medication because it actually fixes the problem temporarily... The only way to permanently fix tension headaches is to pay attention to your body and make sure to relax your muscles when your stressed... There is also a trigger point between your pointer finger and thumb deep in the muscle that can be compressed for a bit (you'll need to do it with enough pressure that there's a little discomfort) and it can ease a headache... but from my experience the massage really is the best way

the first thing is for you to work to uncover the cause. It would likely be something you are exposed to everyday. Many times the culprit is a food additive or artificial sweetners, particularly aspartame, are notorious for causing bad headaches.

If it's something sinus related QBCplex does very well for relief.

Also try drinking enough water. In America most of us are chronically dehydrated and its just so "normal" that we stop noticing it. Try to drink half your body weight in ounces of water per day. so for example a 200 lb person should work up to 100 oz of water a day. This keeps all your systems working properly and flushes the system of toxins.

The best bet is to eliminate the source and not just chase the symptom. Because you can track what you are exposed to everyday you are the best person for this job and not the doc.

Keep track of everything you consume in a normal day, also the environment (are pollen counts, mold, high etc) are you more stressed on days you get headaches? are the headaches worse at certain times of the day? when do they start? etc... the more information you have the better it will be to find the source and cure the headaches.

Good luck to you on that. Years ago when I had migraines all the time I eventually discovered that aspartame was the main culprit.

Once I had this problem as well and the doctors didn't know what was causing it. It got so bad at one point that I was nearly throwing up from the pain. (They weren't migraines. Just a severe headaches.) With this one particularly bad one the doctor told me to take 2 or 3 tylonol and go to bed immediately and sleep. He said that sometimes the body gets "out of whack" and sleeping helps it fix itself. I couldn't see how this would work as I was in terrible pain, but I had no other options. If it didn't work, the doctor said to come into the hospital where they would basically drug me to sleep until the pain went away. I went to bed and actually fell asleep. 3 hours later I was fine, no more excruciating pain.

I don't know if this will work for you, but it did for me. Other thought is checking your house for mold. Mold in a house can create serious health problems. I was living in a mold infested house (unawares at the time) during the time I was having these headaches. My children were sick continually, and I was having bad headaches (very uncommon for me). When we discovered the mold we left that house and have had no problems sense. I don't know if the mold was causing my headaches, but I suspect it now. Either way, the sleep really did help, so you might want to try that, and then get your house checked.

I truly hope this helps you. I know how discouraging it is to be in pain and no one knows why.

ginger bits help me, I chew a couple and the headache fades away. Also, try drinking more water, that helps a lot, and rub (or tie with a bandanna) thinly cut lemon slices on your forehead and temples.

hope all this helps you, too. It is working for me. Now I got in the habit of drinking 7-8 glasses of water a day and chewing 2-3 ginger bits every now and then and I hadn't have a headache in a looooong time

Treating headaches through homeopathy is one alternative to medicine-based treatments. Homeopathy is basically a method or theory of healing that attempts to stimulate the body into healing itself by using natural remedies.

could be tension, stretching really helps, go for walks or jogs, excercise is a great remedy for aches, one would think the opposite, but once you get used to it, you'll feel better.

Apply heat to your forehead. Massage the skin between your thumb and pointer finger. Its goofy but usually eases it a bit. Also my great grandma always said to pinch the skin under your nose for a minute to ease pain.
