How can I propose to my girlfriend of almost two years? We've been living together for almost a year and we are a perfect fit for each other...
Legally, It can't be recognised, but I'd like to propose and have our own ceremony for family and friends..
Any tips would be helpful!

Take her back to the place you first met and retrace the steps of your first date and then ask when the date is over. That's what my husband did :)

Also, I just wanted to say that it's a shame not everyone can have their commitment to the person they love legally recognized and I sincerely hope that in my lifetime I see the day that they can.

Take her out to her favorite restaurant. Get a corner table. Or take her to where you first dated, or me. Bring a candle. Do the whole thing. Get a ring. Congratulations. Real love is rare. A perfect fit is difficult to find. Enjoy!

Get down on one knee and propose! Tell her how much you love her and go for it.
