belt or no belt?

Well-- I use a paddle specifically designed for the purpose--but if a belt works for you that is great.

no belt b/c accidents happen and the last thing you want after discipline is to have to apologize to the child for hitting them some where you didn't mean to. kids move a lot while being spanked so a good hand to their butts has always been sufficient in my family. I have raised 5 girls and a couple of nephews and a god daughter and that seemed to work fine.

I don't know. Sometimes some folks go to far with the belt. First discilpine them without the belt than if they keep gettng out of hand whip them.

Most of them needs their butts smacked with a belt! I don't believe in that, (time out) bullshit! I believe in discipline!! That's the way we were raised and we all have great respect for our parents and elders and have NEVER spit, hit and cursed at our parents like I see these young kids do now days! They are the (time out) spoiled brats of today! You see them all the time in stores and malls, and their dumb parents just keep taking it and keep buying the brats expensive stuff to (CALM) the little darlings!!!!!

I vote for the belt provided it is dished out sparingly and in private. The alternative (no belt) is bedlam and rudeness.

no belt..even though I was raised by a Father who used one when necessary..
& I am respectful to this day because of it,but I do believe in spanking children when necessary...Kids & young people up to 25 yrs old never had to face the consequences of a disciplinarian,& lack respect for anyone & anything...Totally disgusts me to this very day..

You should know better.
Well, I faced the belt and that has kept me in check over the years.
So, yup, I will definitely choose belt.
But that doesnt mean that I will use it everytime.

i believe a belt should be used only when its utterly necessary - like for the really major issues..

When you are in school..u hate when some one tells you to maintain discipline but when u leave school u miss that!no joke..
