for family in UK try familysearch.org
you will need a certain amount of info to get you started, this site only really deals with Old Parish Records which date prior to 1855 when the law changed to require certificates. if you need anything after this date you will need to get in touch with your local registry office and they make a charge for seeing the records whether on line or in person.
you could try to find a local family history group and they will help you get started try www.genuki.org.uk there you should get the address of the one in your county.

Unless you are a full blooded American Indian, go to Ellis Island with aproximate times they came over and names of any you might know. Good Luck

Google have the answer.You just search for the related family such engine.Or find the originating of the family by name,family then you find your past family where they originated on it.

if u want to look up dead relatives i go to findagrave it really usefull and shows u where the famous have been buried.good luck
