Are the card games solitaire and patience the same thing? If not what are the differences?

They are both games played with a pack of cards by one person. I think solitaire tends to be used when you play on a computer. There are many different games of patience/solitaire with their own rules.

Same game different name

I just check, apparently it is rumoured Napoleon played Solitaire to pass hours of exile on St Helena before his death in 1821.

if u mean clock patience, then this is in a circular game, where solitare works in a straight line. again if u meaqn clock patience then they are in no way alike as with clock patience the aim of the game is to put all thecards in place with put coming across all 4 kings. with solitare you just have to get all the cards in order, but in suit of red black, red black, then finally transfer them over to the aces. in correct order,in correct suit
