it depends on why you are throwing up...

if it's b/c you are sick with a "bug". drinking clear liquids might help. things like soup broth, juices, and jello are easy on the stomach and will help keep you hydrated. also drink plenty of water and rest.

if you are unable to keep anything down-including water, i would report to an emergency room b/c dehydration can set in very quickly and make you very sick.

Ice is the first aid when someone feels like throwing up cause it closes the sphincter in the stomach, thus preventing vomiting. Eat a couple of ice cubes and it'll do the trick. Anti-emetic drugs are also prescribed by doctors to stop the vomiting centers in the brain from recieving sensory impulses such as odor, taste, and gastric mucosal irritation.

There are over the counter medications that you can get at a local pharmacy that helps with nausea. But if you're throwing up a lot, I would definitely see a doctor. For now make sure that you stay hydrated. Water doesn't have any electrolytes in it. Try gatorade.

Why are you throwing up ? Find out what that is and stop doing it. See a doctor, because you may become dehydrated, and lose vital nutrients.
