I had flu last year, I was sick for about 3 weeks and felt weak for a while after that. I'm afraid there isn't much you can do other than take vitamins and drink plenty. Make sure you regulally take flu remedies that contain paracetamol as this will help keep your fever down and the pain under control. When you recover get a flu jab to prevent this happening again and continue with the vitamins. I also suggest getting a blood test done if you feel no better in a few days to rule out things like Glandular Fever or other diseases.
For now....go for a warm bath then snuggle into bed xx

I have had problems with the flu in the past. Doctors don't hurt. Try taking some garlic, it will help boost your immune system. Drink lots of water because your body in going to be dehydrated. You need to have more water in you than what will come out of you through sweating. Vitamin C is really good. Don't worry about the dose. Your body can withstand a lot of vitamin C. Also try breathing in some steam. I would also try boiling some water and adding garlic and ginger to the water, then breathing in the vapours. Garlic will help your immune system to remain strong. Get the odourless garlic though so you don't stink. Get lots of sleep. Stay away from milk because the milk can cause you to congest. Milk somehow causes the body to produce more flem when you are sick. I hope that this helps. If you remain sick too much longer go and see a doctor because it could be an infection that can only be treated with antibiotics. Antibiotics will not help if you are suffering from something viral though.

Whenever I feel the flu getting to me I have a hot whiskey but its not made the usual way. Its about 4 measures of whiskey, fill the cup with hot water and then the magic ingredient - instead of lemon juice throw in a lemon flavoured cold & flu powder. Drink whilst its still hot and go to bed.
This probably doesnt suit everyone so reducing the alcohol content is probably advisable but it does guarantee a good nights sleep.
Granted this goes against medical advice and my wife says I have the constitution of a bull elephant but I always wake up in the morning feeling much better.

when you sneeze. Take the tissue with one hand and give it a few shakes in the other direction. There, you've shook it!

I suggest taking 1000mg vitamin C per day. It's above the recommended dose but whatever your body doesn't need is just excreted out - Vit C is water soluable.
