Kilmainham Jail is really interesting if you know anything at all about Irish history. It's no longer used as a jail, obviously, but has been used in the production of several films and drama series.

The tour is free, as is entry, as far as I know. There's also a museum, the downstairs of which is crap. But upstairs is brilliant; you can read letters to loved ones from the inmates sentanced to die, see guns and uniforms used in the various rebellions and war for independance.

It's been brilliantly restored, and they take you right beneath it. You see the isolation chambers (the blackest room I've ever been in), the chapel, the yard with the execution area, the cells of the various 1916 martyrs and the really cool inscriptions and paintings done inside the cell.

IMO, well worth a visit!

well i have been c couple of times, its an amazing place, the only thing we managed to do was the guinness factory, ther are lots of things to do but being in ireland the only was to do it is join in with the craic drink, dance, sing and have fun. The Temple Bar pub in temple bar is fantastic for irish music, and the temple bar area itself is amazing, all cobbled streets so pretty! it really depends who you are going with and what u are looking for. we stayed in the fitzsimons hotel in the heart of temple bar, which has 4 floors underneath of bars and a club underneath, me and my fella had a fantastic time. The only place to stay is in the city centre itself, on our first night we stayed in Rathmines, which is awful, and also the traffic to get into the centre is horrendeous.

Hope this helps!

oh apparently the jameson whisky factory is a must! although potentially dangereous ha ha.

xx

there is lots of things to do in Dublin:

Guiness Brewery
Zoo (ok its too cold for that most likely)
Bus Tours
Trinity College - see the book of Kells
Shopping
Temple Bar - amazing place
St Stephens Green - beautiful park
National Gallery of Ireland
General Post Office (GPO)
Dublin Castle
St Patricks Cathedral
Abbey Theatre
Old Jameson Disstilary
Kilmainham Gaol (jail)
National Museum of Ireland

So much to do in our lovely capital city - and of course if you get stuck there is a bar on every corner (non-smoking now)

if you get time get the dart train out to Howth - its a lovely little village with great sea-food and a beautiful marina

Have a fun trip

I would go see Trinity College Library and the Book of Kells. It's very interesting, and something a bit more academic.

Email me and tell me what you like to do, I'll get back to you.
Everyone is just telling you the regular, boring tourist stuff.
