It was Josephine Baker and she was a lovely woman, according to my Ma, who was a Bluebell Girl in the Folies Bergere in Paris in the 1930s. Ms Baker was a big star, but accoring to my Ma, never put on any airs or graces and was immensely popular with everyone. So no surprise that she went on to adopt all those kids - she did not die rich, that's for sure. God bless her.
