Hahaha. Good one. I never thought of that!
So that someone with dyslexia will know that they're already cured if they can spell this out? Teehee.

But really, dyslexia is just some mandy-dandy scientific/medical word. And you know how hard they make us remember those!

"Many academics give dyslexia a literal meaning based on the etymology. 'Dys' meaning wrong or problematic (e.g. dysfunctional) and 'lexia', pertaining to words and letters. So literally in means a problem with words. So anyone who has a problem reading, for whatever reason, has dyslexia." (Myomancy)

Dys is a prefix meaning bad and lexia means language. This is greek. They were the intelligent ones. The English language is comprised of so many other languages and a very difficult language to master, maybe that is why there are so many dyslexics. I wonder how many other foreign countries have that problem?

It's just an example of how the medical community gets a laugh.
Other examples are heartburn medicine that causes anal leakage and in rare cases DEATH, and being asked to hold when you call 911 and other emergency services. They are trying to build a sense of humor in patients, after all "laughter is the best medicine".

I think they do it to know when you're cured.Once you can spell it you couldn't possibly be dyslexic any more.Seriously though.Dys the prefix means not or non functioning(dysfunctional).Lexia is the root in reference to the thought process of neurological pathway.
