Read R.A. Salvatore's "Mortalis." It was written during a time in which a friend of his was suffering through a terminal illness (cancer I believe actually, but I'm not certain). It captures many of the confusing emotions one can experience when a loved one is in a fight like that.

Well I know one where this guy meets & falls for a woman who is suffering from cancer "SWEET NOVEMBER". Its a very moving movie & you can't help but cry. She died in his arms. (Sorry, I cant remember the main actor/actress' names). Its a sad but beautiful movie, reminds you how short life can be & how to be strong for someone you love.
