How can I tell if my Dr Martens shoes are the real thing?

the name dr martens is on the front tongue upside down inside! Outside it's the right way up..And the soles a branded with The ORIGINAL and the made like no other shoe on earth thing :o)

If they are shoes, and not boots, then make sure they have the yellow stiching, and also if it says Dr Martens it is probably the real thing.

Your sister's young like early 20s or under? Teens think eveything is old. Of course what they dont realize that all those "new" fashions in clothing stores are a repeat. No they aren't out of style- they just cost too much. And besides some of what they call in is just not so cool. I mean really, wheres the other piece of the jacket? I will give you half the money for what you want. You can't expect me to pay full price for a half made jacket.

Hhaah the only way I have found to be sure is to take them through a puddle - real Docs will stand up to such punishment, fake ones soles will collapse. Other than that I think the only difference between real ones & fake ones would have something to do with the stamping on the tongue of them on the inside.

Im confused too, like do the soles always have the oil, fat, acid, alkali resistant stamp? Because ove seen ones that say, like no other shoe on earth??¿

If they cripple you they probably are! Considering who they were invented for I actually thing Dr. Martin was taking the p***. some sort of cruel joke!

If it says Dr.Martens on the shoe then yes they are the real thing

to put them to the test, you have to boot somebody's **** with the steel toe. the pitch of their yelp will let you know if you're wearing the real mccoy. just don't try it with Bishop Brennan, and DON'T call him len

You can tell by what matirial it is and if they fall apart to quickly.
