Peggy..Moo, the animal who beat up the kid for wearing an England shirt was an Asian immigrant, NOT a Scotsman.

I am English mate but that dont mean that i'm proud to be, I would much rather be a part of a nation like Scotland who has genuine pride in their country and actually talk to each other rather than just blanking or being ignorant all the time.

I am not saying that you have a nation of saints but where ever I have worked in Scotland be it Inverness or Offshore on the rigs I have always been made to feel welcome and that is a lot more than I can say about England.

To be frank I have never thought about Scotland being anything other than British.

In the same way as some scousers have a problem with Londoners ( most without ever having visited ) so there is a misconception that the English spend their time worrying about what goes on in Scotland.

Well sorry to say we dont. We think about it as another county ( thats right county not country) it has good products and generally nice people fabulous counrtyside and great culture.

As with all counties there are some people that wake up and think what shall we moan about today oh lets pick on Londoners or the English or the Welsh or Geordies or or or.

Come to London you will be welcomed you will be amongst every nationality and culture some good some bad its what we like to call cosmopolitan. Spend a week and I am sure you will see we really dont care where you come from as long as you are a decent human being.

If however you come with a chip on your shoulder to prove that we are unfriendly and try and cause bad feeling then as we are generally too busy getting on with life you will get short shrift from intelligent people and probably a kicking from less intelligent people

Well, looking at your questions I'm not bloody surprised, if you talk about rebuilding Hadrian's Wall and accuse the English of stealing Scottish oil, do you expect us to be all chipper about it, I don't think so. I think there is a lot more anger from the Scots towards the English and you really need to get over it frankly. I mean, beating up people (including a child) for wearing an England football shirt in Scotland - what kind of a nation are you? You got your parliament, the English can no longer vote on Scottish issues (while your MPs can still vote on English issues), you don't have it so bad so cheer up and grow up!!

* Glad to hear that answer from you Dave - couldn't agree more!

A visit to Cornhill is in order for you m'lad.

Paul you must be easily led as someone is winding you up dear. The everyday English man in the Street are the same as anyone else making a living for his family. The English are no more angry than the are Scots. I suspect your own anger comes from the fact that you feel down about something. Lift your head up high and go out and do something useful with you life otherwise Psychosis's will take over your life.

Good luck, get out, shut off your damn computer and go for a
wee walk.

I know Paul this is all a wind up and you are going to say at the end "GOTTCHA" hehehe!!

I am Scottish, i live in Wales and work for an English company and i travel a lot i my job.
I am happy to say that i do not agree with your way of thinking and am not surprised at the answers you are getting.
Lighten up and accept everyone for who they are it is a mistake to generalize about a nation of people when you may be unhappy about one or two.
I spend a lot of my time meeting people and believe me i meet a few Tw**s and they are not confined to a specific country.
We have enough to be PI**ed about without turning it against each other.

Interesting tactic to diffuse agression! Remind me what the English view of the stereotypical Scot is again?

I've always got on with Scots very well - my best friend is from a big Glaswegian family and his gran thinks I'm a fine big laddie (but she's getting on a bit, to be fair).

Maybe these people answer you aggressively because you're a bit of a tosser?
