It will overwhelm the system unless major changes in approach are made. High dollar medicine will bankrupt the nation if we are forced to give the latest new expensive treatments and supports to all regardless of their ability to pay .

The good news is that the reason there are increased number of older people because of advanced health care that allows us to live longer and healthier now. The major impact will of course be in the field of medicine, having enough people to help take care of folks that live longer. Doctors, techs, nurses, medical assistants, radiology, etc. are the fastest growing fields to get into for now and the long run.
