Do what a Friend of mine always does, I love it, and it always succeeded in getting his boss absolutely flabbergasted. Let him yell and rant and rave while you stand there looking on contently and listening thoroughly, and when he's done, simply smile and cheerfully say " You got it boss, now you have a great day" . What can he do? Don't let him get to you.

Depends on what you did to make them angry. If its something you can fix then fix it. If not own up to your mistake and assure your boss knows that you will, in the future, take steps to prevent it from happening again.

Listen and record everything He/She says. Wait for him?her to finish or ask that this meeting be posponed. Seek advice from HR and insist that all future meeting shoul be attended by a third party. Express your feelings at the next meeting and discuss a way forward.

if he/she is angry but it's not your fault, just ignore him/her. If it is your fault, let him/her cool down, then apologize to him/her and let him/her know that it won't happen again and you better mean it.
