I clean it out several times a day. But when I'm not around... POO!

It is normal. Either place news papers around the cage or get one with a high plastic barrier. Unless you have 2 sand pits for the hamsters, usually they will just poo anywhere and when they are digging around, it is inevitable that the shavings along with the poo, will fly out of the cage.

Yes, they don't want it in there with them either, Put down a shower curtain and set the cage in the middle when you go. when you come howme it is easy to rinse the curtain and put the cage back in its normal spot.

He's probably helping you clean his cage out, i mean when your not around he probably thinks "I'm not sitting around in this sh*it!!"

Try putting a strong fan facing his cage, then when he throws it out he will know about it when the sh*it hits the fan. ha ha ha!!

He's cleaning his house. Leave him alone. You wouldn't want to live in poo!

Not normal behavior. It may be that when you are not around, his cage is not clean enough to suit him.

nope, only unhappy or frustrated animals do that, even though its in a simian's (monkey's) personality to do that - in zoo's experts have noticed that they do it from frustration.
