TFT:Short for thin film transistor,
a type of LCD flat-panel display screen, in which each pixel is controlled by from one to four transistors. The TFT technology provides the best resolution of all the flat-panel techniques, but it is also the most expensive. TFT screens are sometimes called active-matrix LCDs.
LCD:Short for liquid crystal display.
LCD displays utilize two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal solution between them. An electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so that light cannot pass through them.
Each crystal, therefore, is like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light.
Color LCD displays use two basic techniques for producing color:
1.)Passive matrix is the less expensive of the two technologies.
2.)The other technology, called thin film transistor (TFT) or active-matrix, produces color images that are as sharp as traditional CRT displays, but the technology is expensive. Recent passive-matrix displays using new CSTN and DSTN technologies produce sharp colors rivaling active-matrix displays.

Modern LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screens with active matrix need a TFT (Thin Film Transistor) to light up each lcd pixel on screen. This means that TFT is an inherent part of an LCD display.

TFT-LCD screens are one of the type and also the most popular type of LCD screens. Rest of the types of LCD screens are not used or used in some other application [but not for Home use].

TFT is a thin film transistor display actually placed on the LCD to perform spilt secodnd graphical display...LCD is made up of mercury and effective for games...but if you were to press on an LCD screen it would discolorate...making it a highly sensitive display...has to be handled with care.

Nothing. Tft is a better screen resolution for lcd, and also the most expensive because it uses more transistors. IMO, not worth the extra bucks.

tft screen is a advanced version of lcd screens.thats why costly and more better resolution and good to eyes .

sitting on lcd screen you have to sit just straight to the monitor you can not see the clear view by sitting just side to the LCD monitor
but sitting on TFT screen you will see clear view either you sit straight or sit by the monitor
