Whether the WWE'd be p@ssed off or not is beside the point.

What matters are the terms of the contract.
Brock Lesnar had a long no compete clause, it makes sense because he was seen as a rising star and they wanted to hang on to him. Did Kurt Angle's contract have such a clause.

Secondly, we don't know Kurt Angle wanted time off for healing, or whether that was the reason he gave WWE. But in any case, if the WWE cancelled his contract (remember he was on a huge fixed salary and was having problems competing), then the no-compete clause could have been removed at the same time. The WWE saw this as an opportunity to get rid of a huge cost; may be their greed got better of them.

Thirdly, I am quite sure TNA isn't a fly-by-night company. They must have lawyers who went over the contracts and think any law suits could be won.

I personally prefer TNA to WWE. And I like Kurt Angle, so I''m glad he switched.

Furthermore, Kurt Angle changed promotions quickly recently, that must mean something; either he wasn't happy, or the WWE didn't know what to do with him. So I guess he's happier in TNA.

If WWE is not happy, then remember the Montreal Screw Job.

Think of it this way: In the WWE he is wrestling 300 days out of the year, always on the road, it is tough to get time off to heal, they just pump you full of pain pills and say "see ya at the next show" (does the death of Eddie Guerrero give you a hint about that).

In TNA, he wrestles once a week, sometimes twice if there is a PPV, He does not travel, all shows are in Orlando with few road trips. He can have some semblance of a life and heal his wounds. I think in his case it was a smart move, and he is the biggest name on TNA now. Another thing you may not know is that Angle and Christian Cage are very close friends, travel buddies and roomies on the road.

These are the same reasons Sting chose to wrestle in TNA and passed on WWE, he almost went to the WWE.

Kurt Angle has issued a statement through TNA's official website discussing his decision to sign with TNA Wrestling. In the statement, Angle several very interesting points about his time in WWE, being held back and his future in TNA.

Below is the statement from Kurt Angle:

“Being with TNA feels like I have finally found my home. I had fun in WWE at certain times, but I was never really happy. Now being a part of TNA, I know I have a purpose. I feel like I am part of history, part of a company that is not only on the rise – not only going to be the number-one watched wrestling show in the world within a short period of time – but TNA gives me an opportunity to spread my wings.

This company has no limits to where it can go. The sky is the limit and the main reason is because they brought the “real” back into wrestling and that is a perfect fit for the greatest wrestler in USA Olympic history. I have room to grow here and to help TNA grow. Working for these caring and very giving employers of TNA makes me feel like I have a purpose and that the sky is the limit. I don’t feel trapped or held back like I did the first six years in my tenure with the other company. They held me back. Now, our wonderful audience will see the real Kurt Angle doing what I love to do – real wrestling – and that’s what puts a smile on my face each time I come to work. I even smile when I think about it.

TNA will be the most watched television show on cable television. It’s only a matter of time. Now, I get the opportunity and privilege of being a part of it. Thank you TNA for saving my career, my life and my desire to do what I love. I will be here in some capacity for the rest of my life. That’s real…that’s damn real.

– Kurt Angle"

Kurt Angle has been added to the 11/25 list of talent for the Monterrey, Mexico show.

Kurt Angle will make his official debut with TNA next week at the TNA Impact taping in Orlando, Florida. He will also be present at the Bound For Glory fan weekend and appear in the main event for Bound For Glory as the enforcer for the Sting vs Jeff Jarrett match.

He wasnt happy at WWE. He wasnt getting the matches he wanted. there will be no lawsuit cos technically, he wasnt under contract with WWE. Im glad Kurt Angle has done that to the WWE. It was a little weired him getting released from WWE after i heard HBK was under contract when he had his bad back. I knew as soon as i heard he had been released for "medical issues" he was signing up somewhere else. Good for him. Now he can kick Jeff Jarretts *** now..... go onto www.en.wikipedia.org and type kurt angle. loads of info there

I just can not understand why you fans do not realize that Kurt Angle did not leave on his own because Vince McMahon (owner of WWE) fired him.
