Members of the Security Council have the right to veto as we allknow. When te US proposed the Iraq War, France vetoed meaning that the US can no got through with it. When a ceasfire was proposed to the Lebanon war, the US veted and everyone listened. The US has absolutely no right to do that. Did I mention that it has not paid its dues to the UN in maybe ten years...No Comment...

I think we all realized by now how useless UN has become...
How can we expect someone to take seriously the UN now? They failed to stop US's attack on Iraq although the Security council was against a military action. They failed to condemn what Israel was doing in the Palestinian territories an Lebanon...Both Israel and US don't take seriously nor care about what UN is saying...So why exactly would they expect Iran to listen blindly when UN tells them to stop the nuclear program, when Israel is in violation of more than 60 UN resolutions? Why would any country listen to UN when others don't...I don't understand why do we have to have rules for US and Israel and rules for the rest of the world...

Well it's only the "big five" in the security council that can actually veto. China, US, France, Russia, and England. Consider this though many believe the UN only to be a tool for non-state actors in world politics. Such as business and other interests. There are many things that happen in the UN that alot of the public doesn't realize. For example, the commission on Human Rights which was to look at human rights violations in certain countries, was made up of countries like North Korea, where human rights violations abound. The US for a long time has not taken our role in the UN seriously, unless it was in our "best interest" to. Look at the blind eye that the UN has turned on the situation with Israel. Israel was given 55% of the land in Israel in 1948. Through persecution and unlawful detention and torture, they have taken control of the rest of the territory. Israel, also a member of the human rights commission.

The right of veto should be removed. US and UK totally abuse it to further their criminal activities.
