All acknowledged cosmological theory makes use of the cosmological principle which states that the universe is homogeneous and isotropic. This means - apart from many other things - that no place in the universe can be "special", and therefor there can be no center of the universe.

The spatial geometry of the universe is very defficult to explain and understand since it mostly demands to be described in 4 dimensions, which humans sadly have no intuitive understanding of.

In big bang theory there exists no center, or alternately all points are equally well considered the center of the universe. I don't think anyone works on theories that allow for a center... to have a center you would have to have sides i think, and universes don't usually have them.

P.S. We could, of course, declare one. That's usually how such things are accomplished anyway. Greenwich, England has the international date line. How do you think they got that? So I vote to make the center of the universe my own head. Same size and shape as my head. Then when I lose things, people can quip, "You'd lose the universe if it wasn't centered on your head!" And when I turn my head around real fast, everyone will whip around in big crazy circles.

we are around 550 lightyears away from what many believe is the centre. The universe is infinite however so it can be argued there is no centre.
