i have major touble with my telecaster re-stringing it its such a hassle--my gibson isnt half as bad.im not very good doing it at the beast of times but i just get frustated with it all and have to get someone else to do it.any ideas?

just look at the helper guide/instructions, they always help with everything i need

Well, if it strings up the way my guitar does I am not quite sure where your difficulty is. With mine, you simply slip the copper stops into the slot, turn them so the stop is flush, and run the strings. I use a manual winder to tighten until I am close enough to tune, then cut the excess steel off.

You seem to know your stuff but I would have thought detuning the strings slightly would do the job
