Because admitting it would strengthen the position of those who say that the Bush junta knew about the attacks and could have prevented them. The follow-up question of course would be: "Why they weren't prevented." And the answer to that would open up a whole other bag of fleas. Then the brown gooey mass would really hit the fan. So the Bush junta's strategy is to deny, lie, cheat and cover up until the public is confused and bored enough and the government controlled media can be instructed to let the story die slowly again.

She's just protecting Dick! Wait until this debacle of an administration is out of office, how many people are going to come out of the cracks looking for a book deal. Then the subpoenas will come and Bush and Cheney will have their day in court. I can't wait!!!!!!!!
