i done a scan with norton internet security and i got a clean sweep but i was still having problems i was told to go get spybot1.4 but is this not basically the same

Antivirus and antispyware software aren't the same thing. Norton Internet Security is a good defence against virus infection, but if you've got a spyware problem you'll need a specialised anti-spyware program to deal with it. There are lots on the market, and some decent ones can even be had for free. I use Webroot's Spy Sweeper, which is really good. Others swear by PC Tools' Spyware Doctor, or McAfee Antispyware. You can get Microsoft's Windows Defender for free from their website. Whichever one you go for, make sure it's from a reputable company.

Hi, If you have a windows operating system you can download windows 'defender' from Microsoft free of charge. It's very good. I just replaced Spybot with it. There are lots of different options available for you to use from big businesses like Norton & McAfee and whilst they do the same job they are all slightly different. The benefit of using Windows Defender & Spybot Search & Destroy is that they are free of charge. Good luck.

I total recomend AVG ati virus soft wear free adition, it ahs never faild me. Here is the web address http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 its really easy to down lode and oporate. MAKE SUREYOU KEEP it UP DATED AT ALL TIMES, this is where people go wrong with anti virus soft wear.
When it has found virus it put them in to a virus valt and all you have to is run AVG again to make sure the virus has gone. It can run in the background whist you are serving the net.
Spy Bot is diferent it helps you get rid of trcking cokies; these let other web users know what sites you ahve been looking at. most are harmless but some can help people get hold of pesenal information like e mail and bank details.
