The best way to punish a primary school student is with a time out. Either separate the student from the other students within the classroom, or send the student to another classroom. For serious infractions, have the student call his or her parent in front of the class. That's really embarrassing and it works.
Try to avoid giving them prizes for rewards. It's better to give them privileges, such as free time or computer time or a homework pass (meaning they can choose not to complete an assignment.

primary school kids need discipline, just like in the old days.
but seriously its the most delicate of life of a person, you gotta be more honest with them to show them that they are wrong or right. put yourself in their shoes and think about this night after night, day after day.
theres no best way, but only one way, your own honest way.

tricky question u have to remember at this ages kids are beggining to develop their social skills and the way u react to them will affect the way they react towards react to other people...........so u cant over do it they might expect something in return everytime they do something right, or fear doing things for fear of being punished or yelled at
