Defiition of a tourist:

"someone who travels for pleasure"

Meaning you come to visit stay a while and then leave.

You do not need a visa to do this! Hop on a plane and come to London. They are only picky when they suspect that you aren't a tourist and actually want to stay [for that you need a visa]

It all depends where you are coming from. If you are just going to visit for a few days, you don't need to prove you have loads of money, you'll just need a tourist visa (you fill this out on the plane as you enter the country I think)
It will depend on where in the world you're from though.

you have to prove that you have enough money to stay here for six months...and one more thing that you have to prove you have good business on your own in your country and you are intended to stay here for life long...one more thing...if you really want to visit a country then why london...london is the dustbin of europe don't you know that ? go some where else where you can save your money and you can enjoy at the same time...
