…and all the other crimes under the law that heterosexuals and other people commit, they are going to be just fine in the afterlife? We're already in Hell from the way that homophobic heterosexuals have made it for us here on Earth. Some gaypeople out there feel as if they do not have any value or worth because of the current climate while others remain subservient, unflattering, unappealing, and/or unbecoming. But, hey, do what you want!

I have a tip for all the homophobes religious rights out there....being gay isn't a sin! What?! you say....read the list of commandments again...it's okay, I'll wait....did I miss something...nope, nothing indicating gay is sinful. Oh, and the genetic component to sexual orientation...well that means its from nature....and let me hear the religious right say that God didn't make nature....
And don't buy into the whole 'old testament' rules....Christians are supposed to believe those were lifted under the 'new covenant'...and if they come up with Paul, well, here's a news flash on that one...if you read all the letters Paul wrote (and hey, did he write them to you? No, they were to particular people at a particular time). However, if you read his opinions, he had sexual issues and thought EVERYBODY should be celibate...good thing we didn't listen to that or the human race would die out!

Amen to that. I also wonder why it is that priests who diddle little boys are not only not excomunicated, but are protected by the church. Seems the church thinks it's bad but not condemning to be gay, pedophile or both if the person spouts their dogma. Most gays I've come across (myself included) are turned OFF by underage people, and most pedophiles statistically, target little girls; hence are straight. I know I'm focusing on the sexuality portion of the question, but it illustrates the point more effectively. Too many "holy rollers" are quick to preach, and condemn, ignoring their own and those of their like under the tired slogan "not perfect, just forgiven"

A long time ago the priests started using scare tactics (hell, damnation etc.) to get people to attend church & give money, food, etc. and they are still doing it only now but with a new twist-they have brain washed their flocks so they join in the hunts also. In the name of God thousands were killed because they would not agree with the church and a few other points.
The churches of today are many & varied and only a handfull really teach God's laws and kindnesses and the folks within really practice it.
No human really knows what God intends nor what he/she/it is thinking. The fear tactics still go on and on and on.

Buddhism and Hinduism don't believe in Heaven or Hell. Atheism doesn't believe in God.

I do understand where you are coming from. My grandmother once told my mother that a gay person will go to Hell, but a murderer and a pedophile will go to Heaven if they, "accept Jesus." I think it's a crock. And quite frankly, I'm insulted that a pedophile would go to Heaven while a wonderful person who happens to be gay will go to Hell.

However, if we all go to Hell, Hell's gonna be just one eternal Pride Fest, so what's wrong with that??

I guess because we're not repenting of our devious ways. In the eyes of the Christian Faith all is forgive once the sinner confesses the sin and repents and changes his ways. But what I don't get is how can you just turn off your feelings? How do you turn off being in love with your soul mate...who is a female or male? How can you apologize for being that in love with someone who is the same gender? I'm so in love with my girlfriend and I know she feels the same way. I can't just turn that off and walk away from it. I do NOT believe I'm going to hell. I know what I believe, I know Who I believe in and I know where I come from.

They can't think about more than one thing at a time, so they only focus on one thing and right now it's us... no, i'm not saying all straights are like that, I'm just saying that they only see what they want to see and as long as it's them doing it, it's ok

*amen on the hell on earth comment... my sentiments exactly*

This is quite a quesiton. Since God says that all sins are created equal and that all humans are sinners, we should all be on equal ground. Organized religion has chosen to persecute instead of being God like. It's just horrible.

Frankly, I could care less about the mythology, let them believe what they will, I really don't care. I'm not in "hell" nor will I be kept down by the bigots and homophobes. If others won't fight for their rights and place in this world, let them move over for someone who will and does.

We think the cross to bear is not for those who are gay, but those who believe in crosses in the first place.
