I was dating this girl for a couple of weeks. She told me that she was a model and a cheerleader!I wasn't really fromher area and thought that was cool. But when I asked her classmates, they told me that shes not a model or a cheerleader!Theytold me that she was a psycho liar and she lied about various things.Even stupid things like winning belly dancing competitions with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera!Going to LA for modelling assignments. She would tell me that she could speak 7 different languages including German. However, when I startedtalking to her in German shedid not have a clue aboutwhat I was saying! She used to tell me stories about how her ex was stalking her and treating her badly.I somehow got to know her ex and he told me that she was lying and just trying to gain my attention. When I asked her about this she got pissed and didnt talk for days. Can somebody tellme if this is a psychological problem. If yes, whats it called? Its not a joke cuz this girl is 18!and not a kid

People who lie constantly are often called pathological liars. That's not an official clinical diagnosis, which means it's not listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, or DSM-IV. But chronic lying in adults is often a manifestation of antisocial personality disorder (also known as sociopathy). Sociopaths are often deceitful and manipulative in order to gain personal profit or pleasure.

A while back, someone asked about lying, and I read through the lines, that it was a lonely boy with a role model not worth following (parents)..... So many children growing up without parents, have no role model..... Lying is part of growing up you know.... When she's still at it in her fantasy world... You might consider how feel about her... I feel sorry for your girlfriend, she's very lonely and locked inside by whatever.. childhood trauma....
Mine was an accident with a truck.... No one was trained to talk back to doctor... My mum and dad renderred useless for me.. I protected them instead of myself... I lied not much, but enough to blush now when I think some memorys in my 49 years.... I stop talking usually when I realise, someone cannot accept the truth I have to explain.... Shame yeah...... because there should not be a need in a man.. to take his honest wife as his previous unfaithfull wives... Then again.. when he's into partner exchange, you need not comply if it is not you thing.....

She sounds like a pathological liar, and this is a serious problem for which she obviously needs professional help. People like this really can't help telling lies, if I were you I would try and talk to her about it and see if you can ger her to see a therapist. Or perhaps you can talk to her parents?

This looks like borderline personality to me. People with this disorder are highly attention seeking and manipulative.

Many people lie about their achievements. Some people are compulsive liars and need help.
