.. It's a great read and a real page turner ... but Just remember that it's a fiction book :)

I was fortunate to read the book before all the hype so I read it with an open mind without any preconcieved ideas..

The Da Vinci Code is a great read. It was well researched. A wonderful NOVEL. that's the key word.
The apparent seriousness with which this novel is received still amazes me.
After all we don't believe there is an OZ or a real Hogwarts school . Of course not these are make believe. The Da Vinci Code is make believe. So if your asking about all the speculation then yes it is over rated.

I thought the book was extremely exciting and hard to put down.

I love how there's been all this debate over it. People going off on all the lies in the book. It's a FICTION book... FICTION. If he was writing a nonfiction book, claiming that all the things he said are true, then I would understand all the religious backlash, but he's not.

Way, way over rated. The author twists facts to make his fiction. It's possible that Jesus survived the crucifixion. But there's no proof either way. It's possible that Mary Magdalen was the holy chalice. But the arguments presented by the author are based on fictional evidence. Intriguing ideas. No proof. And most of the book is badly written.

As a work of fiction it was an entertaining read. As history it is a work of fiction. I agee it was overrated in that I don't understand how fiction got taken so seriously and got so much hype.

of course, it is over-rated. i have never been able to understand why so much noise has been made over it, especially by the RCs. i truly enjoyed the novel - as a good novel/thriller. but thats it. its only a novel. why are ppl trying to make it more than it is, i'll never understand.
