an auto accessory store is your best bet.
You need to get special glue to stick anything to glass... most auto stores have a kit of everything you need, and its about a 5 minute job. Just make sure to clean of the remains of any glue from the window/your mirror before you start.
I've done it a couple of times on old cars I've had - get a kit for a couple of pounds, follow all the instructions... and 5-10 minutes later the job is done. Very straightforward.
Good luck!

this has happened to me quite a number of times over the years. All you do is go to the parts department of your local dealers and ask them for a rear view mirror sticky pad, They keep them under the counter, it is such a common problem. You will be given a small pad, made to the exact size as the base of your mirror with peel off backing on both sides. Stick to your mirror first then position and stick to your screen. The glue is extra strong on it and lasts for years. The cost is about 10 pence, it is not worth using a substitute.

double sided sticky tape won't last an hour.
any automotive store or mechanic store sells magnetic dishes, plates and stuff for holding tools, screws etc, just ask the guy at the counter and he'll know what you're talking about. then just use some 5 minute epoxy in the middle of the back of the magnet, and some 5 hour epoxy around the edges of the back of the magnet, and you're golden. the 5 minute epoxy will ensure you don't have to sit there for 5 hours while the good stuff takes affect.

Mirrors of the kind stuck to the windscreen can be difficult to stick back on. After trying and failing I bought one in Halfords which has a rubber suction attatchment. Even that falls off in hot weather.

Most are glued on. I have had different mirrors fall off on different cars. On both occasions I went to the nearest windscreen replacement depot and asked if they could help. Done in 15 minutes, cost under a tenner. Any help?

Or those little white double sided sticky pads.
Pritt make them and you can get them from any stationers, they'll also help with vibration as they are cushioned so it wont wobble as much.
