We are both employed, have a son and I earn more than hubby, who is a bit jealousy about it. I foot 2/3 of all our expenses and with skyrocketing costs of living, I am finding our situation burdensome.Although he has very good qualifications he has failed to secure a better job elsewhere. His employer might close any day as it is finding the going tough. It used to be a good company, hence 1/2 its employees are reluctant to leave including hubby. This is now driving me crazy what do I do?

I hope you realize how much you need to be empathic and encouraging a supportive to your husband if he loses his job and it takes some time to find another substantial one. Burdening him with your worries will only confound his already plunging doubts about himself! Have solutions at hand. Find a rent or mortgage that's cheaper, cut out all the goodies! Consider it a 'start fresh, start over phase' that you are sure to get through with love and support. This is an unexpected hump in your marriage path and you need to learn to deal with such things with understanding and patience. It's a life lesson, a marriage lesson,
you may bond better at this point,..a true task to show how strong or how weak your marriage is based on communication. Good luck to you and I hope you stop being crazy and start being the strong woman you are and help your man when he needs you the most.
Peace, love.!

Get him looking for a new job. He has some time so he can be choosy if he starts now. Play a pretend game of what will we do when they close. How will you make the next months bills?

Yea, GM and Ford used to be good jobs. Can anyone who works there be secure now?
it's not his fault that the company he works for is struggling. All the jobs that have been shipped to India and China (and Mexico) it's been tough I can tell you first hand.

Look over your expenses and try to optimize or eliminate. Be objective and creative trying to reduce expenditures. Try new insurance companies, phone companies etc. Figure out what your "Really" spending money on...
If after reviewing you can not reduce then income needs increased.

Sometimes certain cities or states are harder to make it in or have fewer opportunities. Don't immediately rule out a move or a new job for you either. Don't wait until it crashes and burns.

Don't get emotional or depressed. Stay objective, change what you can and don't get bummed about what you can't
change.
