Yes it is, I had to change desks at my old office because it was too cold.

I also hate it when you go to hot countries on holiday and they have air con everywhere so that you end up freezing most of the time.

Aircon is the basis of the development of most of the southern states of the USA. For example Texas, which brought us George W.Bush. It's also one of the major reasons why the US of A has such high energy requirements and needs oil. Which in turn causes all sorts of geopolitical problems. So perhaps yes, by extrapolation it's had its cons...

No, far from that. I would rate the atom bomb or nuclear weapon as humanity's worst invention ever.
Despise the air conditioner? Regulate it to a suitable temperature or request that it be switched off! Condition the air as per your requirements! Better still, help yourself by wearing your winter clothes. At least, you can do something to protect yourself from air conditioners. Note that you have no such protection from the exposure of bombs or weapons...

Take yourself to Egypt in July, turn the aircon off in your room and stay there for 24 hours.

you'll come back saying it is the best invention ever.

So you feel cold in your office? Instead of complaining put on a jumper! Thats what I used to do in my old office. Now we have moved to a non a/c office and it is baking even with windows open and fans going and theres nothing we can do about it!

Yes it is! It is a main cause of Greenhouse effect and Ozone decomposition. It releases CFCs in atmosphere.

Nope. It's very useful in hot countries. It's just a problem if you don't turn it off when it reaches October in England!

yes and no!...lol....i know when im in the car with the air con on it gets to cold for me!!!....can be really usefull tho at the right time!
