UTP CAT5/CAT6

2006-10-03 21:12:25 · answer #1 · answered by Guru 3 · 0 0

Depends what type of network topology and technology your running, but the most popular would have to be Ethernet UTP Cat5/6. RJ-45 refers to the termination of the cables end. Of course there are other types of cables, like coaxial (used most often for Token Ring networks) and fiber optic (used for interconnecting campuses and offices among other things) and variations of Cat 5/6.
