I can nogt handle the light especially at night. i can not drive well with the bright lights shinning in my eye im squinting all the time i can see properly but then it gets worse when im in bed because i can not sleep with any light whats so ever, clocks i have to turn off any light from tv stereo all have to be covered up with a towel...i have thick black curtains so that no light shines in...i even got black carpeting put in because i felt it would help. ive gine to the eye doctors and they cant find anything wrong. first they thought i was going blind not the case then they thought it was allergies and ive been taking pills like crazy not helping...i got one of those eye mask thingys and they always come off because im always tossing and turning because i still feel like light is shinning on my eyes. im losing sleep and not being able to drive much at night what is wrong? thanks

CK your link doesn't work.

I just want to say that you are not alone. I am very sensitive to light when it is contrast to darkness. When I watch TV or use my computer I need to have other lights on or the light will be too sharp. Getting a good nights sleep is a problem since there is always some light that finds its way into the bedroom. (I have thick black curtains too.)
I have seen a eye specialist and I do an eye test once a year, but everything has always come out as normal.

I hope you get an answer that helps because I would like some ideas about why it is this way too.

There may be something wrong with lens of your eyes. See an ophthalmologist soon. Or: have you been bitten by any animal lately? Rabies causes photosensitivity too. This is usually accompanied by fear of water. It's a progressive disease. It may not show full symptoms immediately.

sounds like photosensitivity, although if the doctors don't agree it's probably not.
