he is bedbound so someone is bringing this guy food..

1600 calories and moving body parts (arms and head) should start taking off weight. Who ever is bringing him food should be bringing healthy foods and staying away from sugar and processed food, as well as food high in carbs and sodium.
Frankly he should be looking at surgery to reduce his weight. Has he seen a doctor. If he doesn't do something soon, he could see his organs begin to fail.

A pound of fat is an estimated 3000 calories. So if the man should way 170 lb's, about 1,740,000 more calories than he has burned since the weight gain began. You can say that he has consumed about 8,700 candy bars too many, and anyone bringing him junkfood is slowly killing him.

way, way too much...not recommended...stop enabling him, he can't do anything buy rely on another, so please, help him...remember it hurts before it get's better (or does it?)
