It is pretty simple to print a label on paypal,if shipping domestic.
I had the same problem using paypal to print shipping labels when I sell international.
What I do is this when shipping to foreign counties:
1. Make your own label,I use an Index Card to print the address by hand.
2. Fill out a customs form that you can pick up at the post office. If it is less than 4 lbs . which your item is then you can ship your item air or economy.
There is a different customs form for items that are more than 4 lbs.
Economy letter which is less than 4 lbs. takes longer, but it is usually cheaper,to Canada there is not that much difference in price so I usually ship the item Air letter which is quicker.
The term "letter": can be applied to a package also..if less than 4 lbs. ,( I know that in itself is confusing).
Shipping your item air probably would cost less than 7 or 8 dollars ,but it will get their quicker.
If you already paid for your item on paypal ,and they took the money out of your account, then I would try to print the label using paypal, but in the fuutre, avoid this and print your own label by hand, just mark the item as shipped on your "My Ebay " page, and remove the shipping link on paypal for your own records.
I always mark the item as "gift" on the customs label.
Also where it says to enter the weight of the item, make sure you mark the weight of the item ,less than the item actually weighs ,I assume you have a scale at home,if not you can get the item weighed at the post office for free, some post offices have scales in the lobby ,without having to wait in line.
Domestic labels are really easy on paypal,i had problems where my label would not print after entering all my iformation, then had to wait for a refund from the post office for almost 2 weeks the 1 and only time I tried printing a label for foreign customers, for the longest time I only sold to USA customers, until i finnaly realized I was shortchanging myself and started printing labels myself by hand.
I pick up extra custom labels at the post office, like I said ,there are 2 kinds to use,one is for items 4 lbs or less, and then there are ones for over 4 lbs.
Any items over 4 lbs ,to ship foreign are economy parcel post,or air parcel post, under are air letter, and economy letter.
If you have documents to put in an envelope that you sold, you can also ship that item "global priority",which the post office has envelopes for that,or "global express" which the post office also has envelopes for that..and those are free.
Don't forget you can get free priority shipping boxes from the U.S. post office to mail your items.
I usually try and ship things priority, when selling domestic, unless it is a tape or a cd,which I use media mail.
Good luck and any questions email,I have went through what your are going through..
Sorry the spellcheck is not working today on yahoo answers which happens from time to time..

Hi! I've sold lots of stuff on eBay also. If you want to continue to do the shipping label on PayPal (saves you standing in line at the Post Office), here's what you need to do. When it says enter package information for customs, enter other. It may ask for specifics on what is being shipped, and if it does, answer 7 CDs (if that's what's being shipped). Don't panic. It's not that hard.

I learned most of what I know about buying and selling on eBay through using their message boards. You go to the appropriate board and ask your question, and other eBay members will provide answers.

To get to the message boards, go to either eBay's home page or your own "My eBay" page. On the toolbar/menu near the top of the page (the one that offers the choices "Buy, Sell, My eBay, Community, and Help") click on the "Community" option. This takes you to the "Community" page. Find the section labeled "Connect."

Under "Connect" there are two good options for getting your question answered. One option is to select "Discussion Boards." The other option is to select "Answer Center." Personally, I've found I got quicker and better help through the Discussion Boards than through the Answer Center, but maybe that's just my luck.

If you choose the "Discussion Board" option, look under the Community Help Boards section. There are several listed which would be appropriate for getting your question answered. "Packaging and Shipping," "PayPal," and "Seller Central" would all be OK for posting your question to--personally, I'd recommend "Seller Central."

If you choose the "Answer Center" option, you could post your question under either "Packaging and Shipping" or under "PayPal."

Personally I've found the response time much quicker on the Discussion Boards--"Seller's Central" is particularly lively--there are always people on that board and they are pretty quick to jump in and help. Be sure to tell them you're a new seller and this is your first sale--I think you'll find they will be happy to help you out.

Good luck and Happy eBaying!

PS. You got some bad advice from someone here! DO NOT mark the package as GIFT. It's not a gift, it is merchandise and by marking it as a gift you are breaking the Federal law and potentially gettering yourself into hot water for violating customs regulations. I've shipped overseas to Australia, Canada, and Portugal--never had a problem. You don't want to get into trouble right off the bat for evading customs, do you?

I sell on ebay too, but I also find the mailing labels confusing. I just take the box to the post office and let them handle the mailing. They will ask what is in the package for custom reasons. It's easy!!!!

I sell on ebay all the time. Don't go through paypal to print a shipping label. I also find it confusing. Just go to the post office and ship it out there. If you need to know how much shipping is go onto usps.com and they can guide you through the process. Good luck!
