Our society need more people who is willing to save marriages than compromise to let people get away from their ordained marriage and their responsibilities to their true spouse & family. All of us need to help the quiters out there to stop destoring marriages. It is this anyone makes a commitment than that person honor that commitment.Marriage is a LIFETIME commitment !MARRIAGE IS WHAT IT IS UNTIL DEATH ! Marriage succeeds ONLY as a lifetime commitment with no escape clauses.Divorce should never be an option no matter what !It matters not how many times you say " I DO ", the only one that matter is the fisrt one.It is time for people start standing boldly to save the ordained marriage in our society instead of standing there to help & support to make more single parent families. We need a law to put people in jail who wants to get a divorce & leave their true spouse & their responsibilities to their true spouse & family. My husband will be in jail because he is the one who wanted divorce

Women as well as men can be abusers.. Our problems, divorce etc. have been happening since the late 50's and growing. I guess people really need to be more educated on marriage before they do it. .Once kids are in the picture divorce should be the last resort unless the persons involved are involved in drugs, crime(murder) or things harmful to the children. People today take the easy way out..

It would be best if we all could stick with our mates and be happy. However, divorce is a nessesary option for those in abusive or loveless marriages. I just wish people would start choosing their mates for the right reasons instead of finding out too late that it wasn't what they wanted. It's sad, kind of.

That is an extremely broad statement to make. You havent made any allowances for anything. What about a woman who is being beaten by her husband, does she have to endure this kind of abuse because she signed the dotted line? What about the wife who finds out her husband is sexually abusing their 6 year old daughter....should she stay with this man because she married him? What about that child's rights? Should a woman allow their husband to rape them repeatedly just because she is his wife? If what you are wanting comes to pass, do you know how far back you would be putting peoples rights? You would be taking us back into the dark ages...where the men reign and the women are no more than slaves. If someone is not happy in any relationship, then why should they have to live out the rest of their lives being unhappy? I cannot understand your reasonings.

If what you want becomes Law, then how would you cope with all the abused women and men in our society who are made, by law, to endure constant beatings...what Laws would you put into place to protect these women. Also what Laws would you put in place to protect children who are being sexually assaulted by a parent. According to what you want, if a woman leaves her husband because she is in fear of her life then she is the one who goes to jail. If a woman, who leaves her husband because he is sexually abusing the daughter, she would go to jail because she left the marriage. It would give the father a real field day on his daughter then because the mother would be in jail and unable to protect her daughter.

We are on this earth for such a short time.....mistakes are made every day and there needs to be an "out" for those mistakes. Divorce is the most sensible alternative to living a miserable existence. I dont think people divorce lightly, they made a commitment that they realised they should not have made. Human beings make mistakes...People grow apart. It is a fact of life.

What about a man who puts a downpayment on a house and signs a contract to buy that house, then he finds out the house if full of white ants and is very dangerous....because he signed the contract, does he still have to buy the house considering it would fall down around his ears. He was lied to, in order for the real estate agent to get a sale....so shouldnt he be allowed to get his money back. Same applies to marriage, a lot of people will be on their best behaviour to "catch" a man/woman, then when they start to live together you start to see that the person you dated and loved is not really that person at all, eg, a lot of women will use sex as a way to get their man. When they get married the sex dries up....so, in fact, the man was lied to....the woman was putting on another face in an attempt to catch her man.

There are too many reasons to go into on here, but surely your mind isnt that closed to not understand the damage that would be done if a Law was made to send a person to jail for walking out on a marriage. I am absolutely amazed how anyone could make such a bizzare statement as you have. Its crazy....how old are you?
