The best one I know is to get a good favorite book and read until drowsy. Put out the light and hopefully drift off to sleep.

I suffered from insomnia for a while after college. The best thing I found was working out like crazy. I would be very tired at the end of the night after a long jog or just working out a lot. Also, it sounds wierd, but don't do anything in your bed but sleep (besides that other thing that everyone does in bed). A lot of people watch tv in bed, read in bed, eat in bed. It worked for me when I stopped doing all those things in bed and just used my bed for sleeping, and that other thing with my girlfriend. What also worked for me, and was recommended by a sleep website, was to think of something that will take your mind off your problems before sleep. I use the 3 wishes technique. I think of if I had three wishes what would they be and what would I do with those wishes. Again, it sounds dumb, but it works.

I have RAGING insomonia that best further to my manic episodes so I DO take a slumbering capsule. It's beautiful great although, metabolizes in 4 hours and I under no circumstances suppose "hung over". But earlier than I used to be inclined to take a capsule, my mother made a lavender spray and I sprayed my sheets with it. It's meant to aid sleep. I regularly maintain the condominium at sixty eight or diminish Take the freshest bathe you'll be able to stand earlier than mattress And hot milk. If that does not paintings, appear into Sonata. It's now not too unhealthy relatively.

Valarien can work. Also make sure you don't drink any caffinee after 5pm in the afternoon. I'm a chronic insomniac so if you find something that works, let me know. Massage and meditation can work too if you persist with them

Melatonin.
It is produced naturally in our bodies when we drift off to sleep. You can buy it as a supplement.

Exercise until you just can't anymore.
It relieves stress and you'll fall right to sleep if you make your self tired enough.
I should know . . . I'm an insomniac!
Stupid caffeine!

I have heard a banana and a glass of milk. Something about the way it interacts in your brain.

I'm not trying to be vulgar- but orgasming helps. Afterwards, your endocrine system shifts, chemicals shift and you will have an easier time sleeping.
