What is a Robot?
- An intelligent and obedient but impersonal machine
- Any machine that does work on its own, automatically after it is programmed by humans

When doing a job, robots can do many things faster than humans. Robots do not need to be paid, eat, drink, or go to the bathroom like people. They can do repetative work that is absolutely boring to people and they will not stop, slow down, or fall to sleep like a human.

There are many benefits to using robots instead of humans. Can you imagine working in a factory all day, every day, doing the exact same thing over and over again? The good thing about robots is that they will never get bored, and they will do things more efficiently than people. Also, robots never get sick, or need to rest. This means they can work for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They will never need time off, or lunch breaks. Sometimes, when a task is too dangerous or difficult for a human, a robot will be able to do it without any risks or problems. (Robots in the Real World will focus on these tasks

good question, r2d2.? c3p.? no, Man searches in literature and in his dreams for the friend that wont do you wrong in the end. A never changing buddy who will always be there just like yesterday..and the year before. To paraphrase a Vulcan I know, That it not logical . We need adversity, challenge and diversity to inspire us. Without a challenge we stagnate, for man change is the plan. I would want a 'robot' like HAL without the sinister self preservation in an up gradable palm pilot that I could 'plug in' were ever I am,home the truck/car That on those odd days I could leave home and just be human.

Peace and quiet...something I don't get from real people. Atleast with a robot, I can turn them off when I don't want to be bothered.
