Dear if you want to jamm the mobile which is stolen all you have to do is register a FIR at the corresponding police station with the IMEI no: of your handset complaining that your mobile is stolen and then with the same IMEI no: you can request the mobile company to block that IMEI so that the circuit becomes useless. The thief will not be able to use your phone coz it will not operate in any condition, however he can use the accessories if any with the phone e.g mobile flap, battery, camera, memory card.

Disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following
digits on your phone: *#06#. A 15 digit code will appear on the
screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and
keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone
your service provider and give them this code. They will then be
able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM
card, your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back, but at leastyou know that
whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this,
there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
Please spread this useful information around

I heard that if you report your mobile phone stolen to your phone service provider (Cingular, in my case), they can send a signal to your phone that will burn out the sim card the next time someone tries to use it. That will prevent the thief from cloning your phone. If you have handset insurance, then you can get your phone replaced.
