No, hares and rabbits are different animals, although they are related.

Bunny is a cute, kiddy name for rabbit. Rabbits dig holes and live in them. They are social animals and can occur in plague proportions, eg in Australia in the 1930s.

Hares are about twice as big as rabbits and they do not live in burrows. I have found their nests hidden in long grass in NZ. The babies have hair when born, whereas rabbit babies are naked. Most of the time they live alone. Hares are one of the fastest land animals - they can outrun a greyhound. Rabbits are comparatively slow. There are several species of hare, including the Arctic hare that turns white over winter.

A bunny is sort of a child's word for rabbit and probably hare too.
There is a difference between a hare and a rabbit, but the difference is so small that it is like splitting hairs.

Hare and rabbit are different. Bunny is the same as rabbit. Hares are larger and have longer ears and legs and the babies are born with eyes open.
