I'm trying, unsuccessfully, to sell my Mom's motor home because my Dad smoked in it almost continually. My Dad just recently passed away from lung cancer and the motor home is too big for my Mom to maintain on her own. We've had it professionally detailed but to no avail. The smoke smell is still present. Does anyone else have any good ideas about how I can remove if not at least reduce this smell? Much thanks!

You can try taking some dish towels and soak them in a bowl of vinegar. Then wring them out and hang them in the RV. Its supposed to absorb the smell.

I had the very same problem after my father died, and with lung cancer as well. It was several years ago, but my brother and I cleaned it, washed it down. We painted the walls, after washing all the nicotine off of everything. I mean walls, light fixtures, everything. I think you might could open it up, even put some large fans in there and just blow it out. Then put some fresh paint in there, which will take over the nicotine smell. But you have to really wash it down, air it out, steam clean the rugs, and then put the fresh paint in there on the walls. If that does not work as good as you want, try cutting up some fresh apples and sitting them around. Also, try cooking pumpkin bread, boiling Cinnamon sticks in a pan of water for maybe a few hours. You could get a little slow cooker with the Cinnamon, or other potpourri scents, sooner or later, at least one of these or all will work. It is very hard to get tobacco odors out of homes. Good luck.

A case of fabrease use it daily. Also try the ionizer from The Shack or Sharper Image. I keep a lighter version in my vehicles and it smells like rain

Leave dishes of vinegar out to evaporate inside of it.
I would use big ones.
Myself, I would wipe the whole thing down with vinegar and water as well.
There are these little rocks that you can buy that deodorize too.
If all else fails...try mothballs.

Fabreeze, or take a cap full of fabric softener and put it in a spray bottle of water and spray away on carpets, seats everywhere and you should be odor free. LOL

First, keep it open as much as possible. There is this product called Odo-Ban. You can get it at Wal-Mart or Sam's Club. It is excellent for that and not expensive either.
