I shld say no. Majority of singaporeans are struggling to pay off their basic needs. The income gap between Rich n poor are drifting apart. The rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. It is because the rich is always trying to earn more money from the rest, thats y the poor gets poorer. Think public transport, erp, fuel... Get the idea? Singaporeans are generally poor. Singapore is viewed as rich because her prominent people are all rich.
Take Care!

Outside look bright, like new houses and cars, all snap up. But every week and very often, you can see students, men and women selling charity flags all over the places. Furthermore, every quarterly, Media Corp will hold a charity show like "NKF", "President Charity", "Ren Ci", "Community Chest";etc.
Thus, as a Singaporean, I'll am lost and confused, whether my fellow citizens are rich or poor.

By Asian standards Singaporeans are relatively wealthy, but the cost of living there is as high as in Europe or the US, so they need to be!

i think the guy who mentioned the donation shows and such is confused.... in singapore almost all of the middle-age and young generation are wealthy.... and because the number of aging ppl is o the rise, there are more old, single people, who cant support themselves, so its not about being poor but just not having the ability.....

many singaporeans are generally wealthy but most use up thier CPF when they're retired, esp those with no children. and by the time they're sick and need the money, they cant pay for it...
