How should I wear my Saree/Sari?
I will be going to an Indian wedding soon and I choose to wear a Sari even though I am not Indian to show my respect for the culture and not to mention Saris are beautiful and far more individual then western womens clothes! But, I dont know the appropriate color or drape for my Sari, and I dont want to show up the bride. Any thoughts?

ypu didnt mention whether the wedding is at nite or day... then u can choose colors which will be the most appropriate for u..

furthermore, let me give u a tip.. if you are not that slim go for a chiffon or georgette sari, they are too good..

otherwise if u do not have any weight problems u can wear heavier materials like netting,or silk etc..

its good that u watch an indian movie to have an idea..
good luck..

Sari is worn by potential of girls of all religions. In India Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Parsee and Sikh women placed on Saris. Bangladeshi Muslim women placed on Sari too. Sri Lankan women of all religions placed on Saris. Sudanese women placed on Saris of their very own form.

wear a proper peti coat
1.tuck atleast 1/2 mtr of the saree till you take one round arounf your waist.
2.ask sumone else to help you do this........pleat the other lose end of the saree till the entire loose end of the saree has been gathered together into pleats
3.ask the person helping you to take the pleated end and put in your shoulder from the back side
4.after your holding the pallu(pleated end) on your shoulder there will be a lot of drape left near your waist you hav to pleat that up and tuck it safely in your peti coat with the rset of the saree.
5.secure the pallu and the waist pleats with safety pins.

all the best
