Hm, I thought it was the other way around... I would say that men are less picky unless they are the cocky ones that feel as tho they are God.
I am shallow, I will admit it. Sure I want a good man but he better be fine or how would any attraction ever start?

Your question highly relies on many stereotypes. While the men who are spoonfed by the media will generally lean towards the disgustingly scrawny women, generally most men want a woman that looks more like the girl next door. If you want a real culture shock, search for BBW admirer groups and look at the following big girls get these days. This completely negates your question, and thus, there is no answer.

"male arousal, studies find, is strongly visual, and when men engage in sexual activity or even anticipate it, brain structures once thought to have little connection to sex spring into action. The same brain regions, however, remain relatively quiet when women are aroused".
"In one recent study, a team of researchers at Emory University had 28 men and women look at erotic photographs while an M.R.I. took snapshots of their brains. A pattern immediately emerged. The photographs set off a frenzy of brain activity, particularly in the amygdalae of men. Yet the two groups reported equal arousal most of the time".
and id say what the man finds attractive is usually what the media says is attractive. so the visual part of their brain is then stimulated. it's just the way the brain works.

then?When?
There's no such strong sexual differentiation I think. Both have to be fit and beautiful as much as possible and when you're really in love, for you that person is beautiful no matter what- even if you're 79 years old you see that young wonderful gorgeous person you met 50 years ago.
Men are not superficial. Have a little bit more self confidence!

Yes it does. But not all men are like this. Sure it may help them to find you more attractive if you wear anorexic and a plastique sugery patient, but trust me, you can get just about any guy you want when your nice and laugh at all his jokes. And a little stroking of the ego doesn't hurt Lol.
But i'm not telling you to go around in your pajamas and greasy hair lookin fer a man. Fix yourself up a bit but dont go to extream measurse to get a guy that's not worth your time anyhow if he can't love you fer you.
Now, does THIS make any sense? =) Hope I helped.

Because there are more women than men. Therefore, men get to pick and choose, women are stuck with what they find.
(note, the above is a sarcastic response to an insulting question)

I think that you are imposing the views of certain societies onto all male individuals - which is wrong.
There are men that love big women, or those who to our eye might need some serious dental work...
I have heard research that it is women who push these ideals more than men.

my men have to look good........I have no idea what you are talking about, I don't think its superficial to know what you like and insist upon it. Ones appearance changes with time but it shows a lot about a person who takes care of themselves.

The woman doesn't have to be rich, just the man. Welcome to Planet Earth. Like it or leave it.
