Go to Start -> Run and type in "services.msc" (without the quotes). Press Enter. The Services windows will open up. Scroll down the list until you see Security Center. Double-click on it. Service status should be shown as "Stop". Click on the Start button to start it. Change the Startup type to Automatic if yours is not. Done.

It means the Windows XP SP2 is not functioning properly....

Did you tried System Restore recently or intalled/Uninstalled any Firewall or anti-virus

Try Re-Installing the Windows XP SP2 or try running the Windows Update... i think this will solve the problem... If not try System Restore..

Start > All Program > Accesories > System Tools > System Restore.... select a date when ur computer was working fine.

Hope this solves the issue.

Good Day.

Virus. Go to www.download.com and download AVG Anti Virus Free Edition. It'll get rid of the virus, then you should be able to start it up again.
