Scientists have extrapolated various ways the universe could end. The most popular is the Big Crunch, in which the universe that explanded from the Big Bang contracts back inward.

There is also the Big Rip, in which the power of dark energy increases and over time overpowers the fundamental forces (light, gravity, and the two nuclear forces) and rips apart galaxies, stars, planets, and atoms.

Then there are two Big Chill scenarios, and in both scenarios dark energy does not play a significant role the others. The Big Chill involves a cold death (of the universe) as all the stars will eventually burn up all available fuel and the universe will become lightless and heatless. And somewhere in the scenario everything will "evaporate" in a sense, leaving nothing but a diffuse sea of protons and photons and the like.

However, all the scenarios take place in time frames of billions of years (for the Big Chill, trillions).

It's something to ponder about but there's much more present threats (ourselves, many things on Earth, a lot of things in space).

some scientist already predicted what will happen in the future... stuff like the sun will grow bigger and eat the first 3 planets including the earth... but then again, those things were predictions... who really knows what will happen in the future? i guess the question is not about religions or whatsoever, its if scientist will let us know what will happen, and i guess all i can say is be ready on whats gonna happen...

probably not soon enough, theyre always trying to seek answers to everything & somethings just arent supposed to be known, they just recently said pluto isnt a planet, when for sooooooo many years it was a planet, so even if they did some how think the world was gonna end they would be way off as far as when, & why...
