So i just seen the lake house and i kind of understand it but had just one question and was wondering if any of you guys could answer it. In the movie Keanu said i think we have the same dog, so at the end when they met up does that mean that they have 2 of the same dogs or did it kind of morphin into one. I was thinking maybe she got the dog in the future cause when he died she saw the dog in his truck and just kept it but i dont think thats how it went. any one have any ideas. I didnt really care for the movie but for some reason this question is bothering me.

Remember when Keanu packed up to move out of the lakehouse. Before he left, he went and gave the keys to the lakehouse to Sandra Bullocks boyfriend. The dog was on the sidewalk next to the boyfriend when Keanu walked away. The boyfriend looked down at the dog and said "I remember you" So, the dog stayed with him and Sandra Bullock.

The dog ran away from Keanu in the past when he was leaving the Lake House about the same time Sandra Bullock's character was going to move into the Lake House. It is the same dog in both their lives-just 2 years older in Sandra's timeframe. Did any of you pay attention at all when watching this movie or are you used to movies that require no thinking whatsoever?

That movie makes NO sense! Don't waste your time wondering, girl.. because you will only come to one possible conclusion, which is that it makes NO sense.. nor does it attempt to make any. What a sorry excuse for a movie, one that has no respect for the viewer.
**They could NEVER have met up together.** THAT'S what bothers most people! Case closed.. everything else is a moot point. Okay, okay.. yes, it's the same dog. But that's my last word.

He left her the dog when she rented the lake house from him. It was the scene when Keanu went to Sandra Bullock's boyfriend and gave him the keys to the house.

The thing to REMEMBER is that Keanu was actually 2 years earlier. When he moved out of the Lake House, he left the dog there when it ran off into the woods. By then, I think he already knew that was what was supposed to happen, since she adopted the dog after she moved there.

I dont know, I never really thought of that, but the person that answered that the dog stayed with the exboyfriend and then went with sandra bullock made a good point that could be the answer

They didn't morph. They were literally the SAME dog. It left Keanu and Sandra had it in the future. When he coems to meet her later on, he no longer has the dog. It ran away -- to Sandra Bullock.

i think they just combined into one and no one saw cause the dog ran away from Keanu reeves character. I dont know. i would have to watch it again.

The dog runs away and he chases it to find her. Then the dog runs away again and he doesn't chase it knowing that it was meant to be hers in the future.

Not sure, my cousin also had trouble figuring it out so he watched it thrice, and took notes down. At home, he typed em up and tried to make sense out of them.
