Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant is being built by an incompetent Russian company, many times it's inauguration was postponed, it might not be complete for another 2 years at the least. Then why is Iran so insistent on uranium enrichment? It can at least declare a 2 year suspension and negotiate for a settlement. Right?

I think it is going to be very difficult to prevent nations from getting the capability to make nuclear bombs. Now, the efforts must be on prevention of use or misuse of the nuclear bombs. Bigger nations should instead of attempting to maintain the monopoly of the capability to their own nuclear club of nations, should set an example by dismantling their war heads and paving the way for reduction of war heads and thus leading to a global consensus against the use of this deadly weapon.

Why Iran is persuing uranium enrichment is more a political question; it has plenty of oil reserves and its petrol price is comparable to that of mineral water there. If Iran suspends the enrichment work, it is a victory for US policies. It will also be a victory for non-proliferation camp of the western world who all possess the nuclear bomb.
The Russian company building the Bushehr power plant is a quite competent group and the same company is building the plant for India at Kudamkulam. All the delays are due to political reasons related to fuel making and reprocessing.
Is there any guarantee that Iran's economic growth will be faster if it gives up the enrichment option? Country's self respect is also linked to it.

What Iran does is their business! It is not any of ours!!

We have plenty incompetant compannies of our own, some the largest in the world like GM!

Iran currently has a small supply of Uranium as it is found (0,7%) that was enriched to 3%! It takes 5% to run a nuclear reactor!!

Why shouldn't they enrich it to 5%? It takes 98% pure uranium to make a nuke!

Why can't Iran do what it want's? It doesn't tell us how many we can have!!

Moreover, they are in compliance with the NPT!

Bush was already proven a liar about Iran as he went around crying wolf!

Butt out and leave them alone! That's why people hate America!

They are pursuing enrichment simply to strengthen their hand in any negotiations. An answer might be close as France has, in the last 24 hours offered assistance with their nuclear energy programme.

I think they should but what I want and what Iran wants are two different things. Iran has a different vision for the future and pursuing enrichment is the best thing they can do to acheive that goal.

the international frequently is enthusiastic approximately any new u . s . gaining nuclear weapons. this is because of the fact the greater countries that have nuclear weapons, the better the prospect of such weapons falling into the hands of a terrorist group or some rogue chief who does not hesitate to apply them. as quickly as a nuclear gadget is used on any u . s ., the sector could be open for the different u . s . to retaliate with a nuclear weapon inflicting international destruction. this isn't any longer a Christian ingredient. this could be a consumer-friendly experience ingredient. It has no longer something to do with morality and each little thing to do with saving the human race from itself.

All they have to do is let the international inspecters in , as required by treaty , to make sure the plants are safe and weapons are not being made .
Trouble is their political and religious leaders support terrorism and have backed hostilities with money and weapons .
Name any terrorist group and ask yourself " if they had a nuclear weapon , what would they do with it ?"

No. It should not stop at any cost. The moment it stops, Iran will be wiped off by Israel. Keep going. This is essential for balance of power.

You will never gain any respect without nukes.

Because they can and to show how weak Bush has made America. The truth is, there is nothing we can do about Iran or North Korea - and they know it.

No one likes us, no one respects us, and now they no longer fear us either.

Welcome to George Bush's America,
